Venture Capital in the Life Sciences Community
I was at the GTRI Conference Center today, in the event Venture Capital in the Life Sciences Community. It was interesting, although I expected a bit more of talk about the present VC activities in Atlanta.
The panelists were:
Thomas H. Callaway (Managing Director of Georgia Venture Partners);
Gerard van Hamel Platerink (Managing Director of Accuitive Medical Ventures);
and Alan W. Urech (Managing Partner of Stoney River Capital Partners ).
This is the first time I go to this kind of meetings here in Atlanta. I hope to have the chance to go also the next time.

National Venture Capital Association: Venture capital hits $ 25.5 billion in 2006.

National Venture Capital Association: Venture capital hits $ 25.5 billion in 2006. "Highest Level of Investment in Five Years, with Relative Strength in Life Sciences, Expansion Stage Companies". PDF report.

Buy another CD of U2.

Buy another CD of U2.

Venture capital in the South East
I am working with some stuff related with venture capital in the South East. It was not very easy to find comments or analyses about that, so far. Here you have an interesting analysis (however, I would like to read an executive summary before reading extensive articles; I must recognize that I have made the same mistake several times when writing posts for a blog).
